Bandar Seri Begawan - A 26-year-old Malaysian woman was allegedly killed by another Malaysian said to be her husband (Liew Say koo From Kuching) in a grisly drama close to midnight at a leading hotel near the capital on Wednesday.
The 46-year-old Malaysian suspect identified as Liew Say Koo was produced in court yesterday for killing his Malaysian wife sometime in the evening of July 12 at room number 304, Orchid Garden Hotel in Berakas.
The man was ordered to be remanded at a police station for two weeks by the Bandar Magistrate's Court yesterday on allegation of committing murder by causing the death of his so called third wife.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Dyg Suhana binti Haji Sudin said the defendant will be remanded at the Central Police Station until the next hearing on July 27 at 9.30am.
The prosecutor said the police are conducting further investigations.
Post-mortem on the deceased will be done today.
The defendant faces the death penalty if convicted.

Meanwhile, police said yesterday that the brawl occurred at around 11.30pm inside room number 304 on Wednesday night.
The victim from Limbang came to Brunei on July 9 while the man from Kuching works in the construction industry.
Sources said that Liew allegedly hit his wife who lost consciousness. Thinking that she was unconscious, he called an ambulance. However, she succumbed to her injuries. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
